Med mindre än en vecka kvar till seriepremiär i SDHL så bjuder vi på lite extra gott i hockeypåsen i form av en kanadensisk forward. Alyssa MacMillan har lirat i både kanadensisk samt amerikansk universitetsliga och på isen kommer vi se henne ta sig an närkamper med hela sin förmåga! Stort välkommen!
Can you tell us a little about yourself?
I am a 20 year old Forward from Penticton, British Columbia, Canada. My hockey career became serious when I was in high school, where I played 5 years at the Okanagan Hockey Academy. Following the academy, I played a year at The University of North Dakota prior to the women’s hockey program being eliminated from the school. This past season I played at The University of Ottawa. I have two brothers who also played Hockey at the University of North Dakota, one of which is continuing his career with Tingsryds AIF this season.
Describe yourself as a player!
As a player, I would describe myself as a power forward. I have learned to use my size, grit and toughness to my advantage especially in, in tight battles. This allows me to play a strong defensive game while possessing offensive skills.
What is your biggest accomplishment in hockey?
My biggest accomplishment in hockey to date was representing team British Columbia at the Canada Winter Games.
How does it feel to have signed a contract to play for Göteborg Hockey Club in SDHL?
I am honoured to have to opportunity to sign with Göteburg HC. It has always been my dream to play hockey professionally, getting to do that in the SDHL is the cherry on top. I could not be more excited to get to Europe specifically Sweden and start playing.
Why did you choose to come to Gothenburg HC?
I chose Gothenburg HC because being a newer organization in the league. I believe there is a tremendous opportunity for growth which I am excited to be part of. Another reason for choosing Gothenburg was for the city, I have never been to Europe before and I feel as if Gothenburg will be an awesome start. It made it an easier choice with how good the staff have been at communicating with me and guiding me through the process has been so helpful.
What are your goals for the upcoming season?
My goals for the upcoming season are to contribute as much value as possible to the team while continuing to learn and develop as a player and person. Keeping in mind what my responsibilities are and do them to the best of my ability.
Interests away from the rink?
Most things outdoors. I enjoy camping, boating, surfing, skiing and exploring new places.
My favourite food is sushi!

My inspiration is my family, they have been nothing but supportive of my dreams and anything I have wanted to do.
